DC is pleased to announce that five of its professional and amateur snowboarders will head to Aspen, Colo. this week to compete at Winter X Games 13. DC pro rider Travis Rice will compete along with DC ams Torstein Horgmo, Chas Guldemond, Kimmy Fasani, and Lizzy Beerman at one of the most distinguished snow competitions worldwide. Competing in Snowboard Big Air and Slopestyle, Travis Rice seeks to add a couple more Winter X Games medals to his long list of accomplishments. On the DC team since 2001, Rice is considered one of today’s most versatile and accomplished snowboarders. Most recently, Rice gained notoriety as filmmaker when he produced and starred in one of snowboarding’s most talked about films “That’s It, That’s all”.
Norwegian rider Torstein Horgmo returns to Winter X Games 13 seeking to reclaim his Big Air title and gain his first X Games medal in Slopestyle. At X Games 12, Torstein took gold with a Switch BS 1260 in Big Air. So far this season, Torstein has claimed first in several major events, including the Winter Dew Tour MT Snow event, Nissan X Trail Big Air, and the Burton Australian Open.
Contest powerhouse Chas Guldemond will be competing alongside his DC teammates in the Slopestyle event at Winter X 13. Currently sitting in the No. 1 position on the Swatch TTR World Tour and the Burton Open Series, Chas is no stranger to placing at the top and is sure to be a fierce competitor at this year’s X Games event.
DC’s exceptional team of women’s am riders, Kimmy Fasani and Lizzy Beerman, are set to compete in two of this year’s Women’s X Games 13 events. Fasani, who was honored with a 2008 nomination of “Rookie of the Year” at the TransWorld Rider’s Poll, will compete in this year’s X Games 13 Women’s Slopestyle. Beerman returns to X Games 13 to compete in the Superpipe event. Beerman was the youngest rider to make the women’s Halfpipe finals at X Games12, and the now 17 year-old has her eye on a medal for this year’s event.
